With financial support from the Delhi State Aids Control Society (DSACS), Rasta has been conducting a HIV/AIDS Control Programme since 2010 in East Delhi. The project covers migrant population in 50 locations in East Delhi. So far Rasta has registered 60,000 people with ‘high risk behavior’. The process involves awareness meetings at area level, counseling by Peer Leader, Counseling by Outreach Worker of those who show some symptoms, and referring to Government Hospitals for testing and treatment. Rasta has so far identified 10 HIV affected and they are being followed up.
Other health activities:
We are engaged in all the three main health interventions, namely, preventive, promotive & curative. All children attending our School and Learning Centers are immunized, their growth monitored and other health check-ups done regularly. We are also conducting OPD twice a month at our Gender Resource Center at Khureji Khas as well as Health Camps at regular interval, covering our 75 project locations.
